Shirley Wall

Shirley Blackwell Wall, age 72, passed away in the comfort of her home after a

courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the same love and tenderness she had

so freely given throughout her life. In her final days, she was lovingly cared for by her

devoted son, Clint, and her caregiver, Brittany, whose compassion reflected the selfless

care she had always shown to others.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and

friend whose greatest joy was caring for those she loved. Her children, grandchildren,

and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she loved them deeply and

unconditionally.

She shared 27 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Norwood (Nob)

Wall, demonstrating a steadfast and selfless devotion that never wavered. As the years

brought the challenges of age and illness, she lovingly cared for her husband at home,

ensuring he remained comfortable, surrounded by dignity, warmth, and the love that had

always defined their marriage. Her commitment to him was a beautiful testament to the

vows she held sacred.

Acts of service were the truest expression of her love. Her home was a place of refuge,

where family and friends could always find an open door, a warm meal, and a safe

place during difficult times. She welcomed loved ones into her home without hesitation,

offering comfort, stability, and hope whenever it was needed most.

Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond ordinary kindness. She willingly cared for ill

family members, often taking on the demanding responsibilities of a nurse with

patience, tenderness, and unwavering dedication. She never viewed caring for others

as a burden; instead, it was one of the purest expressions of her love. Whether she was

caring for a loved one recovering from illness or even looking after a family member's

beloved pets, she gave every task her whole heart.

For more than 30 years, she was a familiar and welcoming face at Thurmanize

Cleaners, where customers came to know and love her warm smile. She also worked at

local convenience stores, building lasting friendships throughout the community with her

kindness and genuine spirit.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures—sharing conversations over coffee with family

and friends and spending quiet evenings at home, wrapped in a blanket with her

beloved canine companion, Tee.

Her legacy is one of unconditional love, quiet strength, and extraordinary compassion.

She lived a life of service, touching countless hearts through her generosity, patience,

and unwavering devotion to others. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will

continue to live on in the family she cherished, the friends she embraced, and everyone

blessed to have known her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband: Norwood Wall; parents: John Blackwell

and Mary Murphy Blackwell; step-mother: Margaret Blackwell; step-granddaughter:

Trista Tyler; one brother: Steve Blackwell; and sisters: Phyllis Blackwell and Barbie

Shipp.

She is survived by her son Clint Jemerson; step-daughter: Tammy Richardson (Vance);

step-sons: James Tyler (Karen), and Randy Wall (Sue); grandchildren: Harmony

Jemerson, Journey Jemerson; step-grandchildren: B.J. Alvis, Gage Alvis, Travis Tyler,

Angelia Tyler-Dunbar , Matthew Wall, Kristen Sabala, Van Richardson , Lauren

Townsend , Ashlea Nalley; great-grandchildren: Elektra, Jordan Josiah, and numerous

step-great grandchildren.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at 10:00am Friday, July 24 th , 2026, at

Maison Blanche Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. A time of visitation will be help from

9-10:00am at the funeral home.
