With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Dziedzicki, age 73, of Bastrop, Louisiana. Richard passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his beloved children and the love of his life, Suzzanne.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Richard spent his early years growing up in Ohio, where he developed the strong work ethic, determination, and devotion to family that would define his life. In 2017, he made Bastrop, Louisiana, his home.
Richard and Suzzanne Dziedzicki (Nigrelli) shared 55 years of marriage, building a life and family rooted in love, devotion, and commitment. Together, they created a legacy that grew across generations and will continue for years to come.
Above all else, Richard was a devoted family man. His greatest pride was the family he built and the love he shared with those closest to him. He was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for, protecting, and caring for the people he loved. His strength, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment to family will forever be part of his legacy.
He leaves behind his four beloved children: Katherine Fetter (Ricky), Joshua Dziedzicki (Joanne), Sarah Davis (Richard), and Jason Dziedzicki (Theresa). He was also the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
His beloved grandchildren are Adam Fetter (Zoe), Savannah Fetter, Suzzanne Fetter (Desiree), Santino Font (Lilly), Vincent Prem, Avery Davis, Chase Davis, Aiden Dziedzicki, Emersyn Dziedzicki, Haley Cook, Caty Hodges (Mason), Maggie Lord (Dylan), Joe Cook, Jack Blaul-Green, Edward Dziedzicki, and Haley Dziedzicki.
Richard is also survived by his brother, Ronald Dziedzicki (MaryAnn), sister Mar Dziedzicki (Chuck), sister-in-law Nancy Dziedzicki, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Dziedzicki (Halterman) and Edward Dziedzicki, and his brother, Robert Dziedzicki.
Richard’s life was defined not simply by the years he lived, but by the love he gave, the sacrifices he made, and the countless ways he showed up for his family. He was a man whose actions often spoke louder than words, whose strength provided comfort, and whose presence made those around him feel protected and loved.
Though 73 years could never be enough for those who loved him, Richard leaves behind something that time can never take away: a family shaped by his love, strengthened by his example, leading through his faith in Jesus Christ, and forever connected through the memories they shared.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research in his memory. Per his wishes there will be a celebration of his life in Cleveland, Ohio which will be announced at a later date.
