Herbert Irmen

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Herbert R.

Irmen, who departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the age of 95.

Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend as

well as serving his country as a paratrooper in the 82 nd Airborne of the US Army. He

lived a life marked by love, kindness, integrity, honorable service, and an unwavering

devotion to the LORD. Those who knew him will remember his warm smile, generous

spirit, sense of humor, and his enjoyment in his “later in life” interest in painting but most

of all the wisdom he gained from his faith in God that he shared so freely with others.

Born on March 12, 1931, in Bard, California, Bob was the beloved son of Jeanette Ruiz

Irmen and Paul R. Irmen. Throughout his life, he took great pride in caring for those he

loved and building a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ, compassion, strength, and

perseverance.

Bob treasured his family and his friends. He was a constant source of encouragement,

guidance, and unconditional love. Whether offering advice, sharing stories, or simply

being present when needed, he made those around him feel valued and supported. His

children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will forever carry with them the lessons

he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave so abundantly.

He is survived by his children Cheryl Ann Grantham and her husband David, William

(Bill) L. Irmen and his wife Debbie, Robert L. Irmen and his wife Mary Jo, and daughter-

in-law, Kitty Irmen; Grandchildren, Jacob D. Grantham and his wife Laura, Patrick

Irmen, Peyton Irmen and his fiancée Hannah, Spencer Begnaud and his wife Alyse,

Shawnee De Anda and her husband Paco, Katrina Bosley and her husband Joel, Mark

Hanley and his wife Anna, Michael Hanley and wife Tabitha, Rachel Irmen, Mitchell

Irmen, Jonah Irmen and his wife Zoe; sisters Linda Carpenter, Shirley Figueroa,

Margaret Cates, Jeannie Milton and Donna Grins as well as 20 great grandchildren and

3 great-great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends who were

blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah Myrtis

Irmen, his son, David J. Irmen and his granddaughter, Jessica D. Grantham.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in the countless memories we

shared and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His faith, love, strength,

and example will continue to guide us for generations to come.

A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at

First Baptist Church of Buda, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations

be made to the Onion Creek Senior Center in Buda, TX, our dad was always a big

supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
